Te Wharau School Year 4/5 Teachers

Kim Perano
Year 4/5 Senior Teacher - Room 17

You’ll find me in Room 17. I like to have a lot of laughs with the children in my class although sometimes I think the children spend more time laughing at me than with me. I try to help the children in my class develop initiative and to think for themselves. When the children lead their learning it’s more likely to stick! I like to get out of the classroom to learn about our environment. I think an active mind starts with an active body so I encourage children to be as active as possible. I love Te Wharau and I’m really proud to be a teacher at such a ‘child focussed’ school.

Year 4/5 Teacher - Room 18

Kia ora I'm Sharni and I'm part of the Room 18 whanau. In our class we strive to do our best in all that we do, whether we are learning a new skill, using our CHARM values or practicing new techniques. We are an extremely energetic, curious bunch of learners and love to ask questions and use our detective skills to hunt for knowledge. We enjoy being challenged, having fun with learning and working together as a team.

Kirstin Sheehan
Year 4/5 Teacher - Room 16

Kia Ora! My name is Kirstin and I love my job. I am passionate about nurturing and challenging our young people to help them develop into successful, happy and confident members of our community.  As a teacher in Year 4/5, I run an intrinsic reward based programme where students are encouraged to understand the purpose for their learning  and how it will help them in the future. I am dedicated to both Te Wharau School and our Kaiti community. I look forward to meeting you in the future!
